Unzen Kanko Hotel

Nagasaki

Amenities:

I have arranged for my clients to receive the VIP treatment at the Unzen Kanko Hotel when they book through me.

Swiss chalet style meets the Arts and Crafts Movement. Unzen Kanko Hotel is a mix of styles resulting in a fascinating property full of integrity and charm. A welcoming atmosphere, a fabulous spa with hot spring baths, an award-winning restaurant and a laid-back ambiance makes this the latest, spa lover’s hotspot.

The cool summer temperatures at Unzen have attracted visitors from the cities to this region for years. The relaxed low-key approach at Unzen Kanko Hotel creates an air of serenity and calm with stained-glass windows, Tiffany lamps and dark wood beams inducing a sense of nostalgia. The recently renovated rooms with smart polished wood floors and William Morris wallpaper continue the theme.

Choose from a choice of three hot-spring baths in Unzen Kanko Hotel’s spa, the family bath, the sulphur-spring bath or the open-air bath. Then, lean back into a large, comfy armchair in the relaxation area and view the garden through the vast windows. Visit the ‘Hells’ or ‘Jigoku’ area to see numerous sulphurous and boiling hot springs, or take a hike through Japan’s oldest national park, Unzen-Amakusa, via Nita Pass to Mount Fugen for views of the lava flow from the 1990 eruption.
